At last…. After 4 years of battling it out in our home country we’ve finally got it here ….
It is an incredible feeling each time Pocoyo is released in another country, but of course this time … just that little bit more… It has been a real battle to release Pocoyo in Spain, but at last we’ve sold it at home … strange, no?! Sometimes gaining the support and recognition of those closest to you is the most complicated. Today the people with whom we’re working in TVE have committed to Pocoyo and are really excited. This makes us feel that the whole thing has been worth it.
You can’t imagine the effort we’ve put in to ‘get out there’ in our own country: the energy, meetings, calls, emails, etc we’ve had to deal with to get to this point. Surprisingly, it was the English companies, companies from one of the most competitive markets and the leaders in the pre-school world, who believed in us – the new kids on the block. Companies and people, above all people, Anne, Emmanuelle, Steven, Jon, Giles, Nadine, David, Jerry … they saw and they believed…
Pocoyo is happy, and Elly and Pato. Yesterday afternoon they arrived late to work – we caught them and we took a photo of them in Madrid’s great Gran Via … 100 metres from our offices … People don’t seem too shocked, do they?!
The people of Madrid don't recognise them, because they're just more faces in the crowd, but soon they'll become famous in their homeland and then they'll be mobbed for photos and autographs everywhere they go!

I'm looking over for a DVD release too (he's a fan of Pingu right now, but that'll change soon...) :-)

Hi, I live in the U.S.A. and discovered Pocoyo by way of Youtube. I am also a Animator and Character Designer so I have a great appreciation for the quality of your show. Pocoyo is amazing and my 3 year old and I both love it. The animation is beautifully posed, The character design and modeling is world class, the stories are funny and teach great lessons, and the music is fantastic.
Now you just need to make DVDs that can play in U.S. players. Good luck in bringing Pocoyo to the U.S. I'll be sure to spread the word.

How much do we love Pocoyo! Bravo on creating such a wonderful set of characters and for producing a children's show that sets a benchmark way above most of its peers. My 15 month old boy LOVES your show. My six year old too. You've created a classic. Such a cool series...

I was introduced to Pocoyó a few weeks ago by my grandson, Raúl, who lives in England. Raúl (nearly 2) is an avid 'Pocofan'. So, on returning to Spain, I was extremely happy to find Pocoyó on TVE2, and have since recommended the series to my granddaughter, Claudia (also nearly 2).
Thank you for your patience in bringing a quality children's programme to Spanish TV... and for being kind to us grandads!!!

Hi!! I just wanted to say how much I love Pocoyoo.. I'm studying animation and Cine Digital here in Madrid, and I discovered Pocoyo a couple of weeks ago, and it's amazing!.. I love "Patou" and feel like squeezing them heheh.. Na' Felicidades de verdad!..y mucho exito con la serie.. it's lovely.. it feels great to see good stuff like this for kids (and me :P) haha kisskiss! Jen

I think it's a pitty that you won't have the DVD release ready for Christmas and the Epiphany celebration (Reyes Magos). It's an ideal time for a Pocoyo Gift!

Los ibéricos somos duros de mollera y es sabido lo difícil que es que te reconozcan en este país nuestro. Pero ese mismo tesón es la razón por la que habéis conseguido hacer algo tan especial y que va a ser un fenómeno popular seguro.
Y ahora que vais camino de conseguirlo en España, decidme que no ha valido la pena el esfuerzo :).
Mi mas sincera enhorabuena por hacerlo como debe hacerse.

Dudo seriamente que el objetivo de pocoyo sea hacer un alarde de los medios informáticos disponibles ni un ejemplo de perfección técnica en materia de animación; habrá fallos, por supuesto, pero valorar una serie de estas características solo por este baremo es quedarse bastante corto.
Habría que pregúntales a los peques de preescolar porque ven cada día a pocoyo, y no creo que la respuesta sea un discurso sobre el 3D y sus aplicaciones. No es eso por lo que están enganchados niños y adultos de todo el planeta, sino por otros muchos valores que ha sabido transmitir, que no son pocos, haciendo pasar a la vez un momento muy divertido.

Dear David,
I first saw Pocoyo here in Spain (at the start of the first series - Umbrella Umbrella) watching with my daughter (I'm english, my wife is spanish), I noticed in the opening credits that Stephen Fry was narrating ('cool!', I thought). Foreign childrens' programs seem quite normal here; but when the end-credits came on, I thought: "wait a minute, they're all spanish! What's going on here?"
By the way, who does the narration for the spanish language version? He's very good!
Having read the history of Pocoyo here, I think it's quite sad that you've had to fight so hard here in Spain to get recognized (although the AniMadrid award might count for something). I guess TVE have all their time/money invested in Los Lunnis. Or maybe there's not so much money to be made from merchandising in the 0-4 year-old market.
After checking the web-site, I went to the Hipercor in Pozuelo to see if the DVD had been released here; but no, but at least the first 13 were on-sale in Amazon in the UK (and now the second set as well, I see).
Will the Spanish DVDs an English-language soundtrack as well as the spanish one?
Pocoyo seems to be from nowhere in particular (intentionally, I guess) but - te he pillado - I've seen Pocoyo do that typical spanish shaking-fingers gesture a few times.
Anyway, we all love Pocoyo - especially my daughter - so congratulations and thank you!

Dear friends,
I am a Spaniard living in the UK and the first time I saw Pocoyo on TV it grabbed me like nothing else had done before. I was shocked to see its simplicity and its beauty. This is the work of geniuses and I congratulate you all for finally breaking the thick Spanish market. They don't know what a good thing is even if you hit them in the head with it. I wish you all the best of luck and success. Pocoyo is just amazing and although I don't have any children I always watch it because it always, always puts a smile on my face and I thank you for that.

Hola a todos... la verdad es que estoy sorprendida, pues hace muy poquitos dias que se emite Pocoyo en mi pais (soy Argentina) pero mi hijo de dos años se pasa el dia pidiendome verlos una y otra vez. De hecho me metí a internet a ver que encontraba porque está realmente fascinado con los dibus. Lástima que tardará muchísimo tiempo para que llegue algun juguete de pocoyo a mi pais. Pero bueno... les agradezco los momentos de felicidad que le hacen pasar a mi peque y los felicito por su trabajo... es realmente hermoso ver como lo disfruta (verdaderamente ser pierden lo mejor... que es verles las caritas que ponen frente a la pantalla) pero al menos los papás podemos escribir por ellos estos post :) Saludos a todos...

It has been very surprising for me to know that POCOYO has been broadcasted out of Spain for four years. Unfortunately, here in Spain it takes much time to recognize that another Spanish has produced something really amazing. Anyway, it is great to have this little kid and his friends among us, even so late.
My son, 3 years old, was a heavy Cailloufan, but when he watched Pocoyo for first time, Caillou was sent to the second position, very far away from the first one.
Congratulations to all of you, because you have been able to provide so simple but important messages in each chapter, when so many principles of our society are falling down so quickly. Without any doubt, Pocoyo is a flow of fresh and pure air in the corrupted TV that we must suffer everyday. Congratulations again, thank you very much, and sorry for my bad English.

La 2 ha empezado emitir Pocoyo en dual, y tambien esta serie sobre el cerdo irlandes y sus amigos. No, de verdad, es irlandes.
En ingles o espanol, Pocoyo es igual be bueno.

Like a few of the previous posters, I'm English but I live in Spain, Madrid in fact. I first saw the Pocoyó toys in El Corte Inglés and presumed they were Japanese. When I saw a DVD in an English bookshop in Madrid I snapped it up, thinking it was from the UK - and it looked like something that hopefully my four month-old son would like. Now when I look at the credits after each episode the names are 90% Spanish! You guys are the latest in a long line of Spanish luminaries - from designers, architects, dancers and performers to make it abroad before back in Spain! ¿Nadie es profeta en su tierra, eh? And now I find out that both La2 and Boomerang (on Digital+) are showing Pocoyó.
I've only seen two episodes so far but I'm very impressed.I even showed the DVD in a beginner's English class and all the students - who had never heard of Pocoyo - loved it. ¡Enhorabuena para un clásico de la televisión infantil!

Bueno aunque tengo un inglés bastante bueno estamos celebrando que Pocoyo se emita por fin en España, y usare nuestro precioso idioma... Cuán fue mi sorpresa al enterarme de que esta maravilla era un producto patrio!
Quería daros las GRACIAS por crear esto, soy creativo publicitario en prácticas y estudio Marketing y Diseño y desde todos mis humildes puntos de vista os doy un 10... El producto está muy bien diseñado y sobre todo habéis dado el clavo en como lo habéis enfocado al público, ya que habéis creado algo atractivo no sólo para el niño, si no para el que lo vé con el... Que era uno de los defectos de otras series preescolares: BRAVO!
Mi novia y yo madrugamos tan ilusionados como niños pequeñitos para ver Pocoyo abrazados, y en ese momento os juro que mis problemas desaparecen y me lleno de ternura, como si fuese a ser un niño de cuatro años despreocupado...
Así que como fan, como niño tontorrón que aun soy y como forofo del marketing que me considero quiero deciros que os deseo lo mejor... Profesional como personalmente, ya que vosotros me hacéis un poquito más feliz cada dia... Es lo menos que puedo hacer. :D
A ver si algún día trabajo con vosotros :P

Conocí a Pocoyo en Animadrid el año en que os dieron un premio, y simplemente quiero decir que desde entonces me parece lo MEJOR que se ha hecho en España.

Hola aqui en Peru no hace mucho que se emite y mi sobrino Joaquin es fan Numero 2 porque la fan numero 1 es su mami, mi cuñada, a todos nos gusta POCOYO y como Joaquin cumple un año dentro de poco estamos tratando de poner motivos de pocoyo en la fiesta pero no encontramos nada por aqui, ademas quisiera regalarle un muñeco de pocoyo a Joaquin a ver si me echan una manito con eso, gracias por este dibujo tan lindo y entretenido, en casa lo vemos todos desde los abuelos hasta las mascotas es tan lindo POCOYO!

I am adopting a little girl from Guatemala and saw Pocoyo on Discovery Kids - it is fabulous! We hope it will come to the US soon or at least be made available via DVD (Spanish and English) so we can continue to enjoy it!

yo y mi bebe Gunter, de 11 meses somos fieles seguidores de Pocoyo.
Somos venezolanos, lo vemos a traves de Discovery Kids.
Nos gusta tanto que celebraremos su primer añito con el motivo de POCOYO. Aqui en los cumpleaños acostumbramos a usar una piñata para los niños rellena de caramelos y juguetes.
Ya Gunter tiene gestos de pocoyo es muy comico!!
Me encantaria saber donde pued descargar un poster para hacerles fts a los niños en la fiesta con pocoyo?
Alguien me puede ayudar?

Mi hija ve a pocoyo desde hace una año, pero esta muy triste por que no lo estan emitiendo por la mañana, como era costumbre a las 6:30 am, lo cual me facilitaba enormemente que se levantara para ir al colegio, quiero saber que posibilidad hay de que lo vuelvan a emitir a esa hora.

Pienso que Pocoyó ha sido un éxito porque exagera un poco en las expresiones de entusiasmo y curiosidad que todos hacemos cuando de pequeños queremos aprender.
A mí me fascina!! Soy de Colombia tengo 27 años conocí a Pocoyó en discovery kids y no veo la hora de comprar todos los capítulos en dvd.
